Amid injuries to their wide receiver corps, the Green Bay Packers are signing wide receiver Ryan Grant to their active roster. The Green Bay Packers are taking out an insurance policy. In a corresponding move, they waived running back Tra Carson. Grant, 28, played two games with the Oakland Raiders at the beginning of the season, before they released him.

In doing so, he caught four Derek Carr-thrown passes for 14 yards. Coincidentally, the Packers will face the Raiders on Sunday, at home. Before Oakland, Grant played with the Indianapolis Colts for one season. He started 10 games out of 15 for Indy, reeling in 35 receptions for yards and a touchdown in the process. Grant started his career with the Washington Redskins after they took him in the fifth round of the draft out of Tulane.

In four seasons in Washington, the receiver compiled 84 receptions for yards and six touchdowns. His best statistical season came in when he brought in 45 catches for yards and four touchdowns.
